How Much Does Carpet Cost? The cost of carpet will depend on 4 price componets: 1) The cost of the carept (material) 2) The cost of the cushion (goes below the carpet) 3) The cost of the Labor (delivery, installation, furniture moving) 4) The cost of transitions, trims, etc. The cost of the carpet will vary depending on the brand, fiber, quality, color, style, and the warranty covering the carpet. The cost of the cushion will vary depending on the thickness, weight, quality, and if the cushion has a moisture barrier, and the warranty covering the cushion. The cost of labor will depend on the size and scope of your project. Delivery often varies depending on distance and the amount of materials required. Installation costs will vary depending on the condition of the sub floor and complexity of the installation. Is laminate flooring waterproof?Yes and No! Some laminate prodcuts on the market advertise themselves as waterproof but typically laminate floors are not. With more common laminate water can cause major damage, especially if the water soaks into the wood pulp core causing it to expand and damage the rest of the plank and those planks around it. There are many waterproof vinyl planks alternatives to laminate that will perform similar or better than laminate, and resist water damage, at a similar price point.

What is Luxury Vinyl Tile made of?There are many different types of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring and the materials they are made from can vary, but all LVT is made of layers which include: a wear layer, an image layer, a core layer, and a backing layer. The wear layer is typically made of polyurethance treated plastic or aluminum oxide which creates scratch and UV resistant surface. Below the wear layer is the image and texture layer where the desired look of the floor is printed on a textured surface designed to make, feel, and imitate wood or stone. Below the image layer is the core layer, which often dictates the classification of the LVT product. Rigid Core & Stone-Poly Composite (SPC) vinyl prodcuts are a hard, dense core that boast great durabaility but may bbe harder unferfoot and may sound lounder underfoot. Wood-poly Composite (WPC) vinyl floors are softer, more cushioned cores that feel more comfortable underfoot but may not have the same durability as vinyl floors with harder cores. The backing layer will often be made from cork, fiberglass, or foam depending on the application and the subfloor it is being installed over.
